Home Addition & ADU Contractor Serving MetroWest and Greater Boston
Remodeluxe manages residential additions and accessory dwelling unit projects from early planning through construction. These projects require more than good carpentry: they involve zoning, plans, structural work, utilities, multiple trades, inspections, and careful integration with the existing house.
Home Additions
We work on additions that create bedrooms, bathrooms, family rooms, expanded kitchens, mudrooms, and other new living space. Every addition starts with the existing structure. Roof lines, foundations, utilities, circulation, window and door openings, and the connection between old and new construction all have to work together.
Accessory Dwelling Units
ADUs can create flexible space for family, long-term living arrangements, or additional residential use where zoning and code allow. Remodeluxe can coordinate the construction side of attached or integrated ADU projects, including framing, exterior shell work, utilities, interior finishes, and the licensed trades required for completion.
What Remodeluxe Coordinates
- Preconstruction scope and feasibility review
- Permit and inspection coordination
- Excavation and foundation work
- Framing and structural modifications
- Roofing, siding, windows and exterior doors
- Plumbing, electrical and HVAC coordination
- Insulation, drywall and interior finishes
- Kitchens and bathrooms within additions or ADUs
- Final inspections and closeout coordination
Experience With Complex Residential Construction
Remodeluxe has managed projects involving ground-up construction, foundations, utility work, structural changes, fire and life-safety requirements, framing challenges, and the coordination needed to move a project from permit to completion. That experience matters when an addition or ADU uncovers conditions that were not obvious on day one.
One Point of Accountability
Robson leads Remodeluxe projects and coordinates the subcontractors and specialty trades needed for each phase. Our approach is to keep the scope clear, solve field problems quickly, and protect the quality of the finished work.
What We Need to Evaluate Early
- Existing surveys, architectural drawings, or prior permit records
- Zoning setbacks, lot coverage, and any known dimensional constraints
- Whether the new space will require a new foundation or structural modifications
- How plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and utility loads will change
- How the addition connects to the existing floor plan and roof system
- Whether the project will affect egress, fire separation, or other code requirements
Addition & ADU FAQs
Can Remodeluxe work from plans I already have?
Yes. If you already have architectural or structural plans, we can review the construction scope, identify trade coordination requirements, and develop pricing around the documents provided.
What if I am still at the idea stage?
We can begin with the property, desired use, approximate size, and your priorities. From there, the project may need design, engineering, zoning review, or other preconstruction work before final construction pricing is possible.
Are ADU requirements the same in every Massachusetts town?
No. State law, building code, local zoning administration, utilities, and site conditions can all affect the path to permitting. The project should be evaluated for the specific property rather than treated as a generic template.

Planning an Addition or ADU?
If you already have plans, send them. If you are still at the idea stage, tell us the property location, what space you want to add, and what you want the finished layout to accomplish.
